What is a cell phone booster?
Cell phone booster is a device that takes the weak signal (1bar, 2 bar) and amplifies that signal into a better signal. The improved signal eliminates poor reception and dropped calls.
Will cell phone booster create signal?
No, Cell phone boosters (amplifiers) will not create signal, but amplify weak signal. So, if you have no bar anywhere on top of the roof or near the building this device will not work. The amplifier only works for places where the available cell phone/data signal is weak and choppy.
Who benefits from a Booster System?
If, you experience week signal , 1 to 2 bars in your house or office?
If, your phone drops calls?
If, your phone can only make calls but not receive?
If, your phone only receives calls and not make any?
If, your driving and your connection goes in and out of reception?
If, your data connection is slow for downloads ?
If, you are concerned about the radiation that your cell phone emits around your head.
Will I get coverage in more then one floor ?
Yes, the boosters will improve data connectivity in technologies such as CDMA, TDMA, GSM
Yes: If you get install a powerful system then yes the repeater will cover more then one floor. This may not be true in cases where the building has concrete walls and metal partition in which case you will have to install an indoor antenna in each room.
What is Dual Band, CEL, PCS?
In North America the the cell phones operate in the following frequency:
Dual Band (800 Mhz and 1900 Mhz)
1900 Mhz the PCS band
850 Mhz CEL band
You can find out your exact frequency by entering in your zipcode
Whats the difference between a Amplifier/Booster Vs Repeater?
An amplifier by itself is not a complete system, hence when an amplifier is paired with an external antenna, internal antenna and other necessary components the result is a complete system called the repeater. We have already paired the different components and call them “kits” here
Where should I install antenna?
One of the main reason you might experience poor signal inside home/office/warehouse/factory or vehicles is that the cellular signals have a hard time penetrating through walls and metal structures. A typical building has good signal on the roof or any elevated location in the building that has a clear line of sight to the cell phone tower. Find a location outside and on top of the building to install the external antenna.
Why is my device not working?
One of the main reasons that often goes wrong in the installation of cell phone repeater systems is that the external antenna and internal antenna are closer creating oscillation. Oscillation is result of the external antenna and internal antenna getting mixed up with each others signal and this can be avoided by maintaining the recommended “shortest distance” between the two antennas.
What is the shortest distance?
Its the actual distance between two points and the following diagram illustrates.
Why should I be concerned about cell phone radiation?
Cell phone radiations have not been too much of a concern initially, now their are a number of studies that ties cell phones directly to cell phone use Quote :”The most recent studies, which include subjects with a history of cell phone usage for a duration of at least 10 years, show a possible association between certain benign tumors (acoustic neuromas) and some brain cancers on the side the device is used. [6, 7, 8, 9]”
How can Boosters Eliminate radiations?
The cell phone device puts out more radiation when they work harder to keep up with signal fluctuation. When you have a change in signal strength the phone device works to compensate for any change to amplify a weak signal puts out more radiation studied to have harmful effects in children and any one who have not fully grown into adults.
Why a radiation from phone is bad and the radiation from a booster is good?
The radiation is directly related to the distance from where you hold the phone against your tissue , the FCC calls it SAR .The farther the source of the radiation the lesser the ill effects.
