Common Mistakes to Avoid

1) For proper installation of the repeater system make sure the spot where you mount the external antenna has the maximum bars available in your home or office, because the strength of the signal given at the input of the system will determine its performance

2) Make sure you keep enough separation, atleast 20 feet between the external antenna and the base unit to avoid any feedback effects resulting in improper working of the booster system. One way of doing this is by strategically mounting the external antenna and internal antenna so that you have some sort of barrier like a meshed wall, metal wall or enough distance between the two.

3) Keep in mind to reduce reflection by installing the external antenna away from objects that tend to reflect signals like a tree or building.

Building Installation: Step By Step

For all types of boosters the installation is the most crucial difference between a booster that works and a booster that does not work.

Step 1
The booster is a device that amplifies the given signal, depending on the input signal the output signal gets amplified. Find a location outside the house where you get the most signal (you can use your cell phone and look at the bars) Typically the roof top and find a location that is free of obstructions like buildings or trees.
If you can see the cell tower from your roof, its better to point the antenna in the direction of the tower.

Step 2
Once you identified the spot to install, fix the external antenna in a place 3 feet away from (metal pipes, metal siding, A/C unit, etc.)

Step 3
Mount the external antenna vertically and run the cable to the base unit, attach the base unit with antenna in upright position . (dome antennas, panel antennas does not have pointing antenna)
