What is the difference between Single indoor antenna Vs multiple indoor antennas?

Lot of times customers ask us on the difference between single indoor antenna and multiple indoor antenna kits that we have. Often times the confusion arises because we have always thought that having more is better. Not true in all cases and we definitely have to take into consideration of how many signal bars your present location gets without the signal booster? Because the basic principle of cell phone signal booster is that they do not create cell phone signal but rather increase and build upon a week signal. The only place signal gets created is the cell phone tower. A cell phone tower can transmit signal up to 45 miles away but the strength of it will determine the efficacy of that signal. Typically cell towers in an urban area tend to share the given load and complete the job of maintain a signal that is satisfactory to the user.In urban areas each cell phone provider is given a certain frequency to transmit and each frequency determines a specific number of users that it can handle for maximum load. In some instances competing cell phone providers can enter into agreements that works better for the audience they are trying to satisfy. For instance AT&T might have a lot of its users asking for 4G while a competing sprint users might be asking for voice signal to be better, in those instances it is not unusual for competition to enter into agreements that will benefit their particular audience.

Advantages of having more then one indoor antenna

Match the coverage area with the kit you are about to purchase. Sometimes less is more, especially true we you have a weak cell phone signal. First off the signal should only be split when your coverage are is more then 5000 sq ft , for any thing less a single indoor antenna should suffice. If you have poor signal with one antenna , take the following steps:

a) Make sure the outdoor antenna is directional antenna

b) Try to point the antenna in the direction that gets you the most signal inside. How to do this is simple like installing a TV antenna. Pick a direction and soft mount the out door yagi antenna and then change the direction 45 degrees at a time and wait 30 seconds before you observe what kind of signal strength you get inside the building.

c) Make sure the indoor antenna and the outdoor antenna have enough separation that they are not interfering with each others work of the outdoor antenna connecting and communicating with the cell tower wireless and the indoor antenna connects with the users phone wireless. Meaning that the indoor antenna and the out door antenna are not talking to each other. Because as far the antennas are concerned they will communicate with any device that operates in its frequency.

Now to illustrate how having more then One antenna can benefit, lets take for instance a building in a rural area requires cell phone coverage inside a 100,000 sq ft area. Now a lot of warehouse type buildings, factory & business buildings or even an office building in the heart of downtown tend to have an area where products are made int he back office and business gets done in the front office. In instances like that or buildings that have multiple floors, having a cell phone signal split in to specific areas will ensure full coverage with no dead spots. What good is a cell phone signal booster if you have dead spots ? You must be able to have coverage in elevator or restrooms. Its not crucial to have coverage at all places until it is, during times of emergency.

In some cases it may be that you could have really good coverage in the 2nd floor and not so good coverage in the basement levels. This is typical in cities and urban buildings. A split signal is good
